Boots Mell Square is raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support

Staff at Boots Mell Square are gearing up for a three-day event from 1-3 August, with the aim of raising £500 for Macmillan Cancer Research.

With a gym bike, donated by Mell Square-based, energie Fitness, the Boots team will be taking part in the Macmillian cycle challenge in-store. As part of Boots’ ongoing partnership with Macmillan – to give everyone, everywhere access to the best cancer information and support – customers will be encouraged to support the cause and donate what they can.

Customers can also enjoy a variety of in-store activities, including lucky dips from across the beauty hall – with winners every time – No7 hand massages and manicures, plus mini makeovers, all for a small donation.

Emma Barrington, store manager at Boots Mell Square, said: “Boots and Macmillan have a strong partnership, we can genuinely make a difference to our customers’ lives. The charity’s ambition is to reach everyone, in every community, from the moment of diagnosis. With unique expertise between us, we will play a massive role in helping them achieve this”.

You’ll find Boots Macmillan Beauty Advisors in many Boots stores – they’re specially trained by Macmillan to give face-to-face advice to help cope with visible side effects. From defining sparse brows and lashes to caring for nails that are suddenly more brittle, they offer lots of tips to help people feel, and look, more like themselves again.

Additionally, Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacists have completed special training to understand different types of cancer and treatment and answer questions about medication. They can also guide you to other sources of information and support.
