The Solihull BID Excellence Awards 2018 shortlist has been revealed, which include six Mell Square retailers being selected throughout the seven categories.
Over 100 entries were received for the annual celebration, sponsored by Touchwood, Solihull College and University Centre, Phoebus Software and BNP Paribas, which aims to recognise the outstanding large and small businesses that make Solihull an exciting place to live and work.
This year’s awards features seven categories: Best Customer Service, Outstanding Team, Innovation and Enterprise, Best Hospitality and Leisure, Best Community Social Responsibility Project, Best Apprentice/Trainee and Best Independent.
We are proud to see that amongst those shortlisted are a number of Mell Square retailers, falling into four of the seven categories, with the Best Independent being the most successful:
Best Customer Service: New Look
Best Community Social Responsibility Project: Mountain Warehouse
Best Apprentice/Trainee: Katarzyna Gawalka from Caffe Nero and Donna Walker from New Look
Best Independent: Tap and Tandoor, Liv’s Furnishings and Perspective Opticians
Each category will be judged by a panel of local figures, with the awards, being hosted by ITV Central newsreader Sameena Ali-Khan, taking place on Thursday, November 22, at the St John’s Hotel on Warwick Road.
