The Ultimate Easter Shopping Guide

Spring is just around the corner, the days are getting longer and the Easter bank holiday and half-term are on the way. With this in mind, we’ve pulled together the ultimate Mell Square Easter shopping guide.

  1. The Easter bonnet

Mums and dads – the competitive Easter bonnet parade is on its way and it’s time to dust off the PVA and summon the little, fluffy, yellow fellows back into action.

First things first, you need supplies and we have plenty; head to WHSmiths on Mell Square for card, tissue paper, pipe cleaners and glitter; a few doors down you’ll find Boots for those fluffy white tails otherwise known as cotton wool. It’s then time to cross the square to Poplar Way where you’ll find Sainsbury’s, home to an Easter bonnet decoration kit for only £4 (in-store from 19th March).

  1. The sugar-less Easter

Avoid sticky fingers and sugar induced highs with the help of Chocolate Clothing, Fat Face and GAME.

Starting in Mill Lane South, head to GAME for the poplar PS4 game, Frantics, and it’s only £15.99. Two doors down, the lifestyle clothing and accessory store, Fat Face, has a huge range of hardwearing, machine washable styles for the kids. Then across the square to Drury Arcade, home to Mell Square’s independent retailer, Chocolate Clothing. This multi-award-winning kids designer clothing store stocks luxury brands such as Ralph Lauren Kids, Young Versace and Monnalisa – perfect for spoiling the kids.

  1. A chocoholics Easter

Drury Lane South is home to Carluccio’s, and here  you’ll find a special offer just for you – enjoy 20% off all its Easter products and deli items – all you need to do is show one of our Easter competition postcards.

Then on to Mill Lane South to find Thorntons, which has been crafting Easter eggs since 1922 and have a delicious range to choose from for both kids and adults including; The Handcrafted Chocolate Easter Egg, the Continental Statement Easter Egg and the Smiles Easter Egg, all of which can be personalised.

Finishing at Poplar Way with Marks & Spencer where you’ll find the ‘Laid Back Lamb’, the ‘Burrowing Bunny’ and the Fruit and Nut Milk Chocolate Lattice Egg, studded with crispy pistachios, salted and caramelised hazelnuts, almonds, golden juicy raisins and sour cherries – mmm.

  1. Easter is for adults too

Let’s face it – us adults have to deal with the sugar highs, chocolate stains and not forgetting the Easter bonnet, so it’s only fair that we treat ourselves too.

Support Body Shop’s ‘Forever Against Animal Testing’ with its adorable bunny soaps and nail files. A few doors down on Mill Lane South, Love Aroma has the limited edition, White Chocolate Bunny Yankee Candle for £23.99 – check out the cute bunny tealight holders whilst there too.

Then down to Mill Lane North to find Le Creuset for the ultimate cookware for any foodie with the new extended Rosemary range now in-store. Over the road you’ll find Liv’s and its new range of artisan products – perfect for homemade hampers. Or how about some beautiful faux-flowers in seasonal Spring colours?

Whatever you decide, shop every corner this Easter at Mell Square.
