Children’s role play centre coming soon to Mell Square

Mell Square is set to welcome new children’s role play centre, Play Lane, to Drury Arcade this summer.

Play Lane will feature eight role play areas including a police station, supermarket, vets, building site and even a boutique clothes store where children can enjoy playing dress up. The venue will offer both ‘stay and play’ and ‘drop off to shop sessions’, which will all be supervised by a team of fully qualified childcare professionals, all of whom are DBS checked and first aid trained.

The centre will also feature an onsite café, which parents can visit and remain in full view of their children whilst they play. The café will serve food and drink prepared by its in-house chef including sandwiches, paninis and jacket potatoes, alongside cakes and pastries.

Play Lane owner, Stephanie Phillips, said: ‘’We are really looking forward to welcoming you and your little ones to our brand-new, interactive role play centre. When the time comes to open our doors, our fully qualified team will be on-hand to engage with and support your children with their learning through play experience, so you can be rest assured that they’re are in safe hands.”

Rob Hemus, asset director for IM properties, owners of Mell Square, said: ‘’We are thrilled to add another new independent business to our offering. Welcoming a new business, particularly during such challenging times, only goes to further demonstrate the ongoing appeal of both Mell Square and Solihull town centre as a whole. Play Lane is an imaginative new concept which brings something completely different to Mell Square, so we are really looking forward to sharing it with you when it is open”.
