Mell Square Unveils Taste Collective Partner

The operators of gastropub, Tap & Tandoor, are to work with Mell Square to develop Taste Collective, an exciting new food and beverage offering to be launched in the town centre.

Taste Collective will provide a range of experience-led offerings to include cocktails and desserts, alongside four pop-up style, street food kiosks and a covered outdoor pergola style seating area, where people can meet up and socialise throughout the day.

The team behind Tap & Tandoor and Zindiya in Moseley will deliver this new immersive eating experience and have a proven track record for delivering innovative new eating and drinking experiences within the region.

Both IM Properties, owners of Mell Square, and the operator have a shared vision to create a vibrant town centre and are keen to see independents flourish and are inviting local traders to get involved with the pop-up street food element of the scheme.

Rob Hemus asset director for IM Properties said: “We’re incredibly excited to be working in partnership with the team behind Tap & Tandoor and Zindiya. Building on the success of both restaurants, we hope to use their creativity and talent to deliver a new individual and first-class leisure experience for Solihull.

“Their shared passion for promoting local independent business is entirely in-keeping with Mell Square’s high-quality offering. And their first-hand experience of operating in the town centre will enable them to work well with local traders and create a real point of difference for shoppers and people looking to socialise.”

Tap & Tandoor were winners of the Best Independent in last year’s Solihull Bids’ Excellence Awards and have enjoyed considerable success since opening in the former Saddler’s Arms pub in Solihull.

Ajay Kenth director of Tap & Tandoor and Zindiya added: “It’s a fantastic opportunity to work with IM Properties to broaden the offering in the town centre and bring our own individual style to Taste Collective, developing a new destination and eating experience I know visitors to Solihull will embrace.”

Taste Collective is designed to appeal to a wide range of ages and tastes, bringing greater vitality to the town centre, drawing people to Solihull to eat, drink or socialise with friends and family.

Located on the former Costa site, which has now relocated and is continuing its successful trading next to Marks & Spencer, the Taste Collective will officially launch in December.
